Description
African Punu mask 13*7″ 1,5 lbs, for your collection or your wall and interior decoration (Blmk10015)
In the past punu masks were danced on stilts in masquerades during funeral celebrations. The mask’s white coloring symbolizes peace, the afterlife, and the spirits of the dead—though today its performances are chiefly for entertainment. An epitome of the idealized faces of female Punu ancestors, it has an Oriental expression that is almost regal.
