Dating back to the great Zulu king Shaka Zulu, these shields have been used by tribesmen and warriors in battle for hundreds of years. As a specialized Warcraft, it was imbued with charms that protected the warriors from injury and bad circumstances.
Not only a utility weapon but it was also used as a symbolic piece in traditional ceremonies. Made of wood and pigment with ancestral symbols embossed on, it is a unique and authentic piece of the rich history of Africa and most especially, the Zulu tribe of South Africa.
